Background

Hirsch-Martin Development, LLC is the Owner and Master Developer of the 215 acre development known as The Promenade. Steve Martin is the Managing Member of Hirsch-Martin Development, LLC and CEO of The Martin Group of Companies.  The Martin Group of Companies was founded in 1976 when John and Steve Martin (Father & Son) decided to build apartments together.  They successfully developed and managed the property together and decided this Father & Son partnership was working.  As a full-service Commercial Real Estate Company, they have managed, developed, constructed, sold, and consulted for multifamily, retail, office, industrial, and hospitality properties for a variety of clients.  Now, a third generation, Steve’s sons, Alex and Andy have joined the family business to continue their great family oriented service.

Since 1976 the Martin’s have been involved in various aspects of the real estate business with experience in development, property management, syndication, consulting, ownership, asset management, brokerage, and construction of all types of investment real estate though out 20 states.  They have been Principals in over 40 partnerships, LLCs and/or joint ventures and acted as Asset Managers for a public equity fund.  They own Sperry Van Ness / Martin Commercial Group with offices in Evansville, IN and Indianapolis, IN, a full service brokerage firm which covers large geographic regions in Indiana, Kentucky, & Tennessee.  They hold many of the highest designations in the industry including Public Accounting, Certified Property Manager (CPM), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), and Tax Credit Specialist (TCS).  Additionally, their team of professionals includes an appraiser with decades of experience in consulting and transaction work.

The Martin’s experiences have been instrumental in perfecting cost controls, project processes, contracting methods, budgeting, and lessons learned.  They exercise an entrepreneurial approach to business and have applied this to the development real estate investment field.
